Indian Grass Prairie
This is a narrow, south facing point above the house, which has one steep prairie slope facing east. The west-facing slope has prairie plants growing on it, but it’s covered in brush – mostly sumac, prickly ash, and dogwood - and lots of birch trees. The eastern slope has mostly Indian Grass, with a few prairie forbs.

Here's a view looking south toward the end of the point.

To get up the hill from the house we scramble up the steep eastern slope of the prairie, past one of the few clumps of Butterfly Weed on our property.

These next two pictures are the earliest photos we have of Indian Grass Point - they were taken in 2000, during our first summer and fall.
