8/2/2004 Monarda (Monarda fistulosa) and Missouri Goldenrod (Solidago missouriensis)
Two other really nice flowers that I discovered here
Whorled Milkwort – a tiny, obscure plant, only a few inches high
And Low Bindweed – a white morning glory that grows on a short stalk – not a twining vine
8/2/2004 This is the path toward the point, with its one big patch of Butterfly Weed.
8/24/2004 Rough Blazing Star is starting to bloom. More of it blooms every year.
